July Wrap Up 2020

Who remembers the days of counting down the “21 days of Lockdown” – oh how optimistic we all were!

Now we sit at the end of July, over 100 days in Lockdown under our belts… unable to buy champagne… not knowing when big celebrations will be allowed again… and the world in utter shambles.

We go through days of feeling like we can conquer the world, and yet the very next day it is a struggle to get out of bed.

However, like the kids in High School Musical once said:
“We’re all in this together” 😉 

We are here for you and want to bring a smile to your face.
So make yourself a cup of tea, grab a rusk (or two), and get ready for some feel-good stories we saw in July.

1. Brooklyn Beckham is engaged!
   Okay, I officially feel OLD!
   Yes, he is only 21, but still… how on earth is he at an age to be proposing to someone? Is this a sign that I need to start using eye cream?
   In all seriousness though, we are over the moon for Brooklyn and his fiance, Nicola!
   Also, did you know that 9 year old, Harper Beckham, captured their announcement picture? That Beckham family certainly is a family of MANY talents!Image may be NSFW.

2. Stoop weddings are officially becoming a thing
   So you must remember the Stoop Wedding we shared in May’s wrap up? No? Click here to catch up on what we shared in May.
   But fast foward to this month and we have a fabulous new stoop celebration to share. These weddings are certainly making us more jealous of American brides who have beautiful stoops available on their city streets! Pictures by Fola Lawal Studios

3. Adore Weddings launches their ‘A La Carte Occasion Flower Collection’
   We are so proud of all the wedding vendors out there, using their creative energy to continue creating magic even though their beloved wedding days have been brought to a complete standstill (SOB!)
   The latest creation to have caught our eyes is from one of our Hooray Directory Members, Adore Weddings:

4. Princess Beatrice said “I do” (and wore one of the Queen’s dresses while doing so!)
   So we know you must have seen this romantic intimate celebration by now. but it would be so wrong of us not to share it!
   Princess Beatrice decided to go ahead with an intimate ceremony and we have to say, even though we missed out on sipping on champagne and eating macarons while watching another royal wedding… it really might be one of our favourite royal weddings to date.
   Maybe it is the fact that it reminded me of an at-home wedding, borrowing Granny’s dress (and TIARA!), a small guest list, and an intimate celebration… a royal wedding that we can all relate to in the year 2020!

5. Demi Lovato is engaged!
   We are over the moon happy to hear of another engagement in the celebrity world!
   Demi Lovato said YES when her boyfriend, Max, got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. Get your sunnies ready because her ring is the queen of BLING BLING! Also, this just in, that bling bling is estimated to cost a whopping $500,000… gulp!

6. Mnet announces it’s first Bachelorette
   After two successful seasons of “The Bachelor”, M-Net has officially announced their new Bachelorette, Qiniso Van Damme.
   Qiniso caused some waves in season 2 of The Bachelor, as she was the first one to lock lips with Mark Buckner.

7. Lastly, a 90s wedding-themed party to make ALL of you jealous!
   Guys, why did I not think of this? This is THE best idea for an engagement party, bachelorette party, bridal shower – goodness, I think I might just do this for my 30th birthday party next year!

Myself & two other lovely ladies in my neighborhood are also engaged and we’ve all had to either postpone, cancel or cut-down our weddings. SO we decided to have a small neighborhood celebration in our front yards! All the girls dressed up in old, ugly wedding gowns & veils. We enjoyed pizza, champagne & yard games (we followed all of our state/counties social gathering rules & regulations).
