It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
So while Christy and I are trying to get some quality time in with our families, and drink aaaal the champers, we thought we would do a quick wrap up of not only things that we have seen this month that has made our hearts smile, but also a wrap up of 2019 for Hooray!

What an incredible year…
We can honestly say that we are thrilled with how we have grown and evolved.
In a year, our Instagram following has almost doubled, we launched our JHB directory and added two new sections to our blog- “Wedding Wellness” and “Hooray Honeymoons”
We started our IGTV, reopened our Twitter channel and started happily pinning away again on Pinterest.
We have made new connections both with Industry Professionals and some amazing Brides that we helped along the way, so we are definitely living up to our promise of “Bestie to the bride + Sister to the Service Provider”
Thank you to everyone who helped make 2019 the amazing year that it was, we are oh so excited to see what 2020 has in store for us!
Now over to the things that have made our hearts smile, not all of these are wedding related but in the season of Christmas, we couldn’t help but share:
- Zozibini Tunzi crowned MISS UNIVERSE!
Okay guys, like how proud are you right now? South Africa has really pulled it out the bag this year with so many amazing accomplishments: Ndlovu Youth Choir waved the SA flag high on the show, America’s Got Talent; our boys brought the RWC trophy HOME; Teddy Nzama was named the WORLD’S Best Barista, and now our Miss SA has been crowned as MISS UNIVERSE! We are beaming with pride and can only think that this is exactly what South Africa needs!

- First Seat Swop Out
Guys, not wedding related at all but get ready to just feel your heart burst!
Jack and Violet (88) started chatting while waiting to board their plane for a flight from New York to London. Jack soon learnt that it was Violet’s dream to sit up in “First Class”, something she had never experienced before. Luck would have it, he had a First Class Ticket, so he decided to swop seats with her for the flight! We get tears in our eyes just looking at her beaming face. The world needs more people like Jack!![]()
- KFC Proposal UPDATE
Woohoo – Hector and Nonhlanhla are going to be renewing their vows on NYE!! How amazing! Their planner is none other than Precious The Planner so we know this is going to be a wedding like no other. We love a good #NYE wedding so will be keeping our eyes peeled for all the details!![]()
- Teacher includes her students at her wedding
A bond between a teacher and her students is an amazing thing. Colleen Powell is a Special Educations Teacher and decided to include three of her very important students in her big day. Dominic accompanied her down the aisle, while Jay and Korde were her Ring Bearers. This just makes our hearts feel all warm and fuzzy inside!![]()

So everyones favourite “girl next door” got a ring on her finger and we could not be happier for her! She has already started quite a trend with the sales of pearl rings on the rise. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming wedding plans Em!![]()
- Hilary Duff gets hitched!
Hilary said “I do” to Matthew Koma and if the sneak peeks are anything to go by then this wedding was everything and more! We are so happy for the couple and cannot wait to see many more pics of their amazing day!![]()
