Brittany and I have known each other since Spice Girls days, all the way through to the end of school.
After High School, Britts traveled far and wide but luckily Facebook kept everyone up to date with her adventures. During her travels, she fell in love and got married to the man of her dreams.
When I saw her gorgeous wedding on Facebook,  I knew that we just had to share it!

Brittany and Enrico said their “I do’s” on a sail boat on the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
Yes, it is as dreamy as it sounds and we love how intimate and special their day seemed.

Proteas all the way from South Africa, arriving on a tuk tuk, ukulele & guitar playing, and saying their vows in front of a castle in the ocean, just wow! Read on to get captivated by the magic of this beautiful wedding day!

Hooray: Please tell us more about yourselves.
Britt: Our names are Brittany lee Oliver and Enrico Migliaccio. We met 5 years ago, I was his scuba-diving instructor. We remained friends until last year when we met again. Everything was just right and we had the universe on our side. After three months we were engaged and within a year we got married. Why wait when it’s right!Hooray: Tell us about your proposal
Britt: Enrico proposed to me on the beach overlooking Castello Aragonese in Ischia. But not in the traditional way. He made a photo album of all our memories and on the last page was written ‘will you marry me?’ We had champagne and celebrated on a cold winter’s afternoon on the beach. Just us.Hooray: Tell us about the vision you had for your wedding
Britt: I wanted a small simple wedding. Just immediate family and if any other family wanted to come- we welcomed them. I envisioned the day just as it was. Clear skies, warm and full of love. We actually had two wedding days. We got legally married the day before our wedding and celebrated a nice afternoon having an apperitivo with friends.Hooray: What was the one non-negotiable of your wedding?
Britt: Our wedding was very simple and easy going. But it had to be small, only immediate family.

Hooray: How many people were able to attend your wedding?
Britt: 18 people attended our wedding. Hooray: How did you choose your photographer?
Britt: We searched for many photographers on the island. But I liked Luca’s style. We met once and it was a done deal.

Hooray: Be honest, how many hours did you spend on Pinterest?
Britt: Haha, too many!! We (hubby included) love Pinterest.Hooray: Who did your hair + make-up?
Britt: My mom 🙂
*Hooray side note: We think this is SO special!

Hooray: Tell us about your bridesmaids and groomsmen?
Britt: As it was a small wedding, I only had a Maid of Honour – my sister. She was incredible from start to finish. She helped with everything from translating my vows into Italian to organizing a beautiful apperitivo on the boat. Enrico only had a Best Man- a good friend of his.Hooray: Could you share with us the best and worst of your experience?
Britt: The best part of the experience was having the people I love together to celebrate this special day. The worst was watching the weather forecast change daily from thunderstorms to sunshine. But fortunately, it was a beautiful day.Hooray: What role did your parents play in your wedding? Did they contribute financially?
Britt: My parents paid for the wedding. My mom did so much, without her the day would not have been the same! She organised the wedding favours, documents, flower girls dresses and head pieces, brought the Proteas for the reception from South Africa to Italy. On the day, she did hair and make-up and so much more. My list could go on forever. She was my own personal wedding planner.Hooray: The one thing you would change about your wedding if you could travel back in time
Britt: I would like to change my dress. But this dress was perfect for a 7.5 month pregnant bride.

Hooray: You made getting married while pregnant look effortless – did you face any challenges?
Britt: Haha thank you, but I felt very self-conscious as I felt like a whale! I had such swollen feet – I bought my shoes the day before, in hope that the swelling could go away. I couldn’t colour my hair as it’s not advised during pregnancy. But with all of this and more (restricted menu as you couldn’t eat many foods during pregnancy and no wine!!), we had the most beautiful and special wedding day.Hooray: Your doggie is just so cute! Did he play a pivotal part?
Britt: This is Ira, my husband’s dog. She is gorgeous, so gentle and loving. I wish she could have been on the boat with us.Hooray: The best thing about saying your vows on the boat?
Britt: My husband surprised me with the most beautiful  and heartwarming vows in front of an old castle on the ocean (my most favourite place).Hooray: The worst thing about saying your vows on the boat?
Britt: Absolutely nothing!

Hooray: The biggest hurdle you faced planning your wedding?
Britt: The hardest part was keeping to our small intimate wedding. This was difficult as there are so many people you would like to be there on your special day.Hooray: Were there any space challenges on the boat?
Britt: We had such a small group and a big sailing boat so space was abundant.Hooray: What advise would you give to anyone wanting to get married on a boat?
Britt: Bring your swimming costume and mess up your make-up and hair for a summer swim in Crystal blue waters. If this is not for you, check the winds on the day and choose a hairstyle that’s wind friendly!
Keep it simple,
Get a musician,
Have fun and enjoy the boat!Hooray: The best moment of your wedding day?
Britt: Sailing with the wind in our hair and being barefoot.

Britt, we absolutely loved reading all about your special day and you have really got me dreaming of summer days in Italy!
We wish you and Enrico many happy years ahead!
